Victoria Warren-Mears
Hi! I am Victoria. I have been married to my fun and artistic husband, Jim for 10 years. We have one charming son, Preston, who is a very tall 8 year old.
I have been scrapbooking since he was two. Even when I was in elementary school and college I kept books of mementos, encouraged by my mom. My style is constantly evolving and I love trying new things. I really enjoy experimenting with textures and I am a huge fan of rub-ons! You’ll find me doing traditional paper, hybrid and digital layouts, depending on where I am and the amount of time I have available. In addition to paper arts, I knit, crochet and make jewelry. My original jewelry designs have been published in Bead Trends.
I live in a vibrant neighborhood in Southeast Portland that has no less than 12 children and their pets, just ripe for scrapbooking! We have awesome places to visit that allow me to indulge in my photography.
I am employed full time, outside the home. I work for a non-profit organization that works to eliminate health disparities among American Indians and Alaska Natives. I consider my work and my art as acts of faith and an extension of my Christian beliefs.
I am excited to be on the design team and hope to serve as a role model for other women who are employed full time outside the home. I believe there really is still time to make your hobbies a priority, even with a job and a family and the multiple other demands that go along with it.
I am thrilled that Maura and Scott have asked me to be a part of their team. Designing scrapbook paper is a relaxing hobby. What could be more gratifying than saying, “I made it myself”?
